So, no video today - Sorry about that.
I have a card order that is a bit of a rush.
Now I get these orders off and on and I try to find cool ideas or create a mix of ideas to create something fantastic.
The other part/problem is the card style they want. This is becoming a bit harder to create around. Maybe you have an easier time, but I have really been struggling with this lately.
So, the card requests this time is Avatar (Jake Sully) and Godzilla....
Yikes right. I went on a huge look around and really didn't find much that I liked even cut file wise. But the Shadow box files kept coming up (In my face).
So that told me to grab them and see if I could change them into a card.
This meant that I had to size down the files to 6X6 and 5X7 (ish)
I was completely worried since they are a bit larger for the Shadow Box creation.
But I went for it and here is the results....
Godzilla:
1st run:
The way to create these is using white papers, watercolor paper etc
I created this with pop tape and white paper.
The pop tape is making it over 1/2 inch deep. This will not work!!
I also added light and where it would light up it was very flashy,
and the center just didn't light up.
Needless to say, at this point it was not turning out ok. I was frustrated - Very Frustrated.
Lights - out
White paper - out
Now to pick papers that are colorful but not too bold more subtle.....
Godzilla file
White 110 paper for base
Mink cardstock
Mist cardstock
Pewter cardstock
Pine cardstock
Charcoal cardstock
1st run....
replaced it with the next one on the card base...
Jason and the person ordering this card wanted it a bit brighter.
Card #2 is brighter. Not sure about this one but Jason likes it, so I am going to call it done.
Avocado cardstock
Glacier cardstock
Lagoon cardstock
Pewter cardstock
1st cards papers:
Charcoal cardstock
Mink cardstock
Rosemary cardstock
Mist cardstock
Now, the cards are now done, and I just need to find some envelopes and let her know to come get them.
Sad a bit that the lighting process was a bust but glad these are completed, and I can get on to some scrapping tomorrow.
