Master Bedroom Reboot

Normal Life stuff:  Saturday, I got a "Bee in my Bonnet" that dust mites might be adding to my cough?!?!? So, I ordered the Covers for our bed, Miranda's bed and all of our pillows. I chose this brand after a bit of research. King size Box Springs Twin size Standard pillow   King pillow Packaging Pictures: Pillow cover Mattress cover Sunday - Miranda's items arrived. Miranda's room was easy to cover - Love the twin size. I was even able to put the mattress topper inside the encasement. At this time, I was still waiting for ours to arrive and hoping my mattress topper would fit too. Monday - Our bed items arrived, and I went full on crazy cleaning the room and getting all the dust bunnies from under our bed and nightstands.                             Grabbed the cleaning supplies - Vacuum, window cleaner, towels, mop & solution, baby wipes, and standard cleaner.       ...

The Office that took so long to complete.

Ok so in hind sight I should have known the office desk was going to be a beast. We had it planned out too well to start with so of course there was issues.  1st issue was we were only removing 1/2 of the desk - Jason's half so I was able to continue working downstairs and he was just off to the side. That went out the door in about a minute. The new desk top was going to be kind of woven in. So that meant that the top had to be built at the same time not one side then the center then my side. So on demo day we went from a slight removal to a major haul it all out and figure the mess out later stance. Not my favorite demo day that's for sure. June 13,2020 This was taken just before Jason realized we needed to take everything out of the office. I knew I had to clear off the center area so I had done most of that but then my computer had to be taken down. Probably wasn't as big a deal and I made it but I was having trouble loading pictures that day  to the blog and so it beca...

Laundry Room

Our laundry area is more of a hall from the garage to the house. So it has to be simple, functional and welcoming. Here is the pictures of the laundry area when I remembered to take before pictures.  This first picture is just after the washer and dryer were removed and I swept the floor. It was bad!! Amazing what it looks like under stuff after 4 plus years. Also this floor has to stay for now - very sad but if the floor had to be changed the  project was going to be delayed.  coat rack area with basket for hats Ceiling - there was a pot light put in at some point but they never removed  the old gross light fixture. That was high on my list of things to get removed. After the shelf was removed Just before we painted the room (this room and the sink area of our master are the only areas we have not painted since moving in) The midway points:  The cleaned up ceiling - very difficult picture to take. Its all freshly painted and the old light area covered with a pl...

The last of the Carpet is out!

The long over due Reno - Here are some slightly Before, during  and After shots of the room.  I forgot to take a before picture with all the furniture in the room of course. BEFORE: Just after removing the furniture and a quick vacuum Before we removed the carpet I painted an end table for Miranda Might as well not make a mess on the new floor and I couldn't do this in the garage as there was sawdust flying.  During: Jason scrapping the caulking off the wall This is an impressive picture as this is just after getting the  carpet and pad out of the room. We were expecting the worst. this was the room that Empire replaced and had spent all day removing the prior flooring of cement board, screws and cement covered in the cheap sticker flooring.  glad it was actually done so well  and we didn't have to rent a scraping tool. We actually had more trouble in  this  room with  the carpet tack strips. Jason refers to them as the blackberry  ...
